om Nikolaj

Nikolaj startede sin musikalske rejse i Tivoli garden og uddannede sig herefter på konservatoriet i København og Mannheim. Under sin uddannelse var han solofagottist i European Union Youth Orchestra og herefter spillede han i tre år som anden fagottist i DR symfoniorkesteret.

I 2018 vandt han stillingen som solofagottist i The City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra og begyndte i 2019 som lærer på konservatoriet i Birmingham. Nikolaj har spillet med orkestre som NDR elbphilharmonie Orchestra, Budapest festival orkester, Stockholm filharmonikerne, BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra, Copenhagen Phil, Bergen Symfoniorkester.

Nikolaj har givet masterclasses på Royal academy of music, Guildhall school of Music, Royal Northern college of music, Muho Mannheim, Royal Welsh college of music.

about Nikolaj

Nikolaj started his musical journey in the Tivoli Youth Guard. He then went on to study in Copenhagen and Mannheim. During his studies he was the principal bassoonist of the European Union Youth Orchestra. Nikolaj then did three seasons as second bassoon in the Danish National Symphony Orchestra before winning the principal bassoon seat in the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra in 2018.

Since 2019 Nikolaj has been teaching bassoon at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire. He has enjoyed playing with orchestras such as: NDR elbphilharmonie Orchestra, Budapest festival orchestra, Royal Stockholm Phil, BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra, Copenhagen Phil, Bergen Symphony etc.

Nikolaj has given masterclasses at: Royal academy of music in London, Guildhall school of Music, Royal Northern college of music, Muho Mannheim, Royal Welsh college of music.
