Dorothea er solo cellist i Danmarks Underholdningsorkester og 2. solocellist i Odense Symfoniorkester. Før sin stilling i Odense var hun cellisten I Esbjerg Ensemblet i 10 år.

Hun har også arbejdet med Chamber Orchestra of Europe, Musica Antiqua Köln og Det Kgl. Kapel. Hun har desuden optrådt som solist med Odense Symfoniorkester og andre ensembler, og som kammermusiker i Danmark og USA.

Dorothea er født i Tyskland ind i en musikalsk familie, og voksede op i New York City og Boston. Hun har studeret med Laurence Lesser og Colin Carr på New England Conservatory of Music, og med William Pleeth i London. Dorothea spiller en David Tecchler cello fra 1714.

Dorothea Wolff was born to a musical family in Germany and grew up in the USA. She studied at New England Conservatory of Music in Boston, and then continued her studies under William Pleeth in London.

She was solo-cellist of Esbjerg Ensemble for 10 years, and since 2003 has played as a solo-cellist in Odense Symphony Orchestra. She is now also the solo-cellist of the Danish Chamber Orchestra alongside her job in Odense.

She has also played with Det Kongelige Kapel, Chamber Orchestra of Europe, Musica Antiqua Köln, and often performs as a chamber musician both in Denmark and in the USA.
