Mathieu Rouaux

Mathieu is a dancer and photographer at the Royal Danish Ballet. He has been a part of Equinox Festival since 2021.

Born in St Malo, France, Mathieu started ballet at eight years old. He graduated from the Paris Opera Ballet School in 2013 and danced with the Paris Opera Ballet until 2015. Mathieu joined the Czech National Ballet in 2016, the Hamburg Ballet in 2017 and the Royal Danish Ballet in 2020. Since moving to Denmark, Mathieu has performed as Rothbart in Swan Lake, Bernard in Raymonda, and Bror in Blixen, as well as dancing principal roles in The Nutcracker, Robbins’ Glass Pieces, and Balanchine’s Serenade.
In his free time, Mathieu is a photographer capturing backstage moments of rare and raw beauty at the Royal Danish Theater.
